About

Gabe is a visual artist who currently resides in Aurora, Colorado. Their work mainly focuses on photography, especially analog methods and darkroom processes. Their work resides in the space between capturing the beauty that exists everywhere, and a more intimate and personal perspective into issues like gender, grief, identity, love, trauma, and healing.

Gabe carries every piece of art that has ever interested or inspired them in some way with them. They might be reminded of these things in a piece of art they create occasionally. They have always had a very strong emotional connection to art, whether it be their art or the art of others, and this connection to art (in many forms) only grows over time. They have taken photography and drawing classes, as well as general art classes many times, that have all contributed to their growth as an artist.

Being able to express themself and capture things in a way that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to is absolutely invaluable to them. The emotional connections to art that they make and other’s art is an essential part of who they are as a person. As well as this, the technical skills and ways of thinking can be applied to many other parts of life. The analytical eye and creative mindset helps Gabe in many places other than art in their life. Most of the successes from their art have been personal, by helping them to explore and figure out identity, how they see the world, and many other things.
